Role SummaryRivian is seeking a Director, Demand Planning, to lead Rivian in developing world-class practices for forecasting demand, planning production and managing inventory. In this role, you will lead and develop a team, define new processes, and implement technology to enable our growth as a leader in the electric vehicle space.
Responsibilities- Lead the development of consensus demand forecasts across Rivian's product lines, leveraging statistical models, market insights, and business planning
- Lead the development and implementation of new processes to ensure tight alignment between on-the-ground inventory and demand across Rivian's fulfillment network
- Partner with S&OP and IT teams to drive strategic projects for end-to-end demand planning capabilities and technologies, including the use of AI and ML to automate and inform commercial planning
- Act as a primary decision-maker and escalation point for demand/supply issues, ensuring timely resolution in partnership with other S&OP stakeholders
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of demand and inventory planners
Qualifications- Proven track record of successfully leading end-to-end planning processes, including demand planning, sales and operations planning and inventory allocation
- Experience driving complex decision-making processes, including navigating conflicting viewpoints and proactively driving to consensus among senior leadership
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive audiences
- Deep understanding of consumer demand dynamics, including pricing and incentives strategy, particularly in the automotive or other durable goods industries
- Expertise in inventory and fulfillment strategy, including experience optimizing inventory levels and allocation in a network distribution model
- Strong team leadership and people development skills
- 8-10 years experience in demand planning, sales operations, supply chain planning, or management consulting
- Experience with advanced planning systems (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, SAP APO/IBP) preferred
- MBA with specialization in supply chain management, operations management, and/or data science preferred
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $150,000-$211,000 for Georgia, Illinois, and Michigan based applicants, $160,000-$230,000 for Southern California based applicants, and 170,000-250,000 for Bay Area based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
