What you'll be doingThe Data Governance team within CAO and GTDAI helps strengthen how we manage, protect, and use data across the bank. As Director, Data Governance, you'll lead strategic initiatives that advance our data governance framework, support enterprise priorities, and help ensure data is managed with consistency, quality, and accountability. You'll work closely with data owners, data stewards, data custodians, and business and technology partners across CAO and GTDAI to guide governance practices, support policy and control implementation, and drive alignment across teams. In this role, you'll oversee delivery planning, reporting, risk and issue management, and continuous improvement initiatives that support a strong governance environment. You'll also lead a team, building capability and providing direction that helps translate strategy into practical execution and measurable outcomes.

How you'll succeed- Lead strategic initiatives - Drive data governance priorities across the portfolio, ensuring initiatives align with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and enterprise data practices.
- Strengthen governance practices - Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance policies, standards, controls, and procedures that support effective data management across CAO and GTDAI.
- Manage delivery and oversight - Monitor timelines, deliverables, risks, issues, resources, and budgets to support effective execution of governance-related programs and projects.
- Partner across the organization - Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, data custodians, senior leaders, and business and technology teams to support decision-making, resolve dependencies, and advance shared outcomes.
- Enable reporting and insights - Oversee governance reporting, dashboards, and portfolio metrics to provide clear visibility into progress, priorities, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead people and develop talent - Direct, coach, and develop a team while setting clear expectations, fostering collaboration, and creating an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.
Who you are- You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience as a leader in data governance, data management, project delivery, or a related leadership role, ideally within a complex enterprise environment. You have strong technical knowledge. You understand data governance and data management tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Databricks, Informatica, or similar platforms, and you know how they support governance, metadata, and data quality practices.

- You're a strategic thinker. You can connect day-to-day execution to broader business goals and guide initiatives that improve governance maturity, operational effectiveness, and risk management.

- You're a certified professional.It's an asset if you have certification such as Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) or Data Management Association (DAMA).
