About the role
This is an opportunity for an ambitious data manager who enjoys operating close to the business while still being deeply technical.
Based in San Francisco, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Finance, Risk, and GTM teams to improve data visibility, enable better decision-making, and help scale Aspire's data capabilities in a fast-moving fintech environment.
This role is ideal for someone stepping into their first major leadership role - someone who can balance execution and strategy, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to help build a modern data function inside a high-growth company.
What You'll Do
• Partner with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Finance, Risk, and GTM teams to deliver actionable insights and drive business decisions
• Help build and scale Aspire's data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytics workflows
• Own and improve dashboards, business intelligence, and performance reporting across key business metrics
• Support data engineering and analytics initiatives to improve data quality, accessibility, and scalability
• Work closely with technical and business teams to define KPIs and establish data best practices
• Contribute to building a strong data culture across the organization
• Mentor and support junior data team members as the team continues to grow
• Help evaluate and implement modern data tools, processes, and automation opportunities
What We're Looking For
• 4-7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or related roles within fintech, SaaS, payments, or high-growth tech environments
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern BI and analytics tools
• Exposure to cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
• Ownership mindset with strong execution capabilities
• Prior experience mentoring or leading small projects/teams is a plus
• Based in or open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area

For candidates based in SF, the base salary range for this role is $140,000-$230,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.We believe in paying competitively for high-impact talent, especially people who thrive in fast-moving, high-ownership environments. Final compensation will depend on experience, location, and the scope of the role, and we're happy to discuss details throughout the process.
