POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, the Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, governance, and usability of enterprise data assets supporting data quality, governance execution, issue management, reporting readiness, and usability of commercial enterprise data assets across key business systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, reporting platforms). This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, IT, and other business functions to support data standards, coordinate governance processes, and support high-quality analytics and decision-making.

The Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining trusted, auditable data aligned with MEUS-IAD's operational, financial, and compliance requirements. The role facilitates data quality monitoring, root cause analysis, remediation coordination, KPI reporting, and governance documentation to improve confidence in commercial reporting and business processes.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

Data Governance & Standards
• Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of data standards, definitions, and business rules across assigned data domains (e.g., customers, opportunities, pricing, incentives).
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation and usage of key data elements.
• Facilitate alignment between business owners, data users, and technical teams regarding data definitions, ownership, and governance expectations.

Data Quality Management
• Monitor data quality using defined metrics (completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency).
• Perform data profiling and trend analysis to identify quality risks, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities.
• Identify data issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive remediation actions. Maintain and prioritize a data quality issue backlog.
• Coordinate remediation activities across business and technical teams and track corrective actions through closure.
• Establish and maintain data quality dashboards and reporting. Define, monitor, and report data quality KPIs, thresholds, and scorecards.

Data Stewardship Execution
• Data Governance Execution & Change Coordination
• Coordinate review and approval processes for critical data changes in core systems (e.g., account hierarchy updates, pricing records, master data updates).
• Support workflows for data creation, updates, and governance approvals.
• Document recurring issues, root causes, and recommended corrective or preventive actions.

Requirements & Business Process Analysis
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements related to data management, reporting, and governance initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into data standards, controls, process improvements, and system enhancement recommendations.
• Partner with business and IT teams to support implementation of approved solutions.

Change Impact Assessment
• Evaluate downstream impacts of business process, organizational, and system changes on data quality, reporting, and governance controls.
• Support projects and system enhancements by ensuring data governance requirements are incorporated early in design.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as a liaison between business users, IT, and system administrators to resolve data-related issues.
• Support initiatives involving CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms by ensuring data readiness and alignment.
• Present data quality trends, findings, and recommendations to business stakeholders as needed.

Process Documentation & Controls
• Create and maintain documentation for data processes, governance policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure alignment with internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
• Support development and maintenance of governance policies, standards, and decision frameworks.

Reporting & Analytics Support
• Partner with analytics teams to ensure data models and reports leverage standardized, reliable data sources.
• Guide proper data usage for reporting and dashboards.
• Analyze the business impact of data quality issues on reporting, forecasting, customer management, and operational processes.

Governance Program Support
• Participate in governance councils, working groups, and data governance initiatives.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and decision-making regarding data quality and governance priorities.
• Support communication and adoption of governance standards across impacted business teams.

Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, streamline processes, and enhance governance frameworks.
• Support implementation of data governance tools, automation, and workflows.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve consistency, accuracy, and process reliability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years experience in data governance, data management, data quality, business systems, or related commercial operations role (e.g., CRM, ERP)
• Experience working with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar platforms
• Experience performing data profiling, root cause analysis, issue prioritization, and remediation coordination
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into data standards, controls, reporting needs, and process improvements
• Knowledge of reporting and analytics concepts, including KPI definitions, scorecards, and dashboard usage
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical concepts to business users
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Beneficial:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,600/yr and $117,700/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
