Role PurposeThe Quality Engineer (QE) for the Data Center Business Unit (DC BU) supports product and process quality across data center products and manufacturing operations. This role works closely with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, NPI, and Customer-facing teams to help prevent quality issues, assist in investigations, and contribute to effective corrective and preventive actions. The QE applies an engineering mindset, data analysis, and structured problem-solving to support product integrity and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Support investigations into data center quality incidents, including containment, data collection, and root cause analysis activities
- Assist in documenting and tracking corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure
- Collaborate with senior engineers and the DC Quality Excellence Manager on escalations requiring cross-functional coordination
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of product and process quality tools (CTQs, control plans, risk assessments)
- Participate in process capability studies, measurement system analysis (MSA), and data-driven evaluations of key manufacturing processes
- Support quality engineering activities in manufacturing, testing, external manufacturing and end customer environments
- Provide early quality support during NPI phases, helping ensure design-for-quality and manufacturability considerations are addressed
- Participate in qualification builds, readiness reviews, and risk mitigation activities with both internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze quality performance data (e.g., PPM, complaints, audit findings) to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Participate in continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving and basic statistical methods
- Support customer quality interactions and audits as a technical representative for the DC BU
- Assist in maintaining audit readiness and compliance with applicable Quality Management System standards (e.g., ISO, TL)
Required Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 2-3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or related engineering roles
- Working knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a technical environment
- Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly
Desired Experiences- Experience with data center, high-reliability, or high-speed connectivity products
- Exposure to Six Sigma or structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Green Belt training)
- Familiarity with ISO9001 / TL9000 or other quality management standards
- Experience with digital QMS tools or analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, ETQ, SharePoint, Power BI)
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $80,011.00 - $110,016.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
