Full Job Description
What you will do:

  • Drive the implementation and global delivery of the technical strategy and roadmap in alignment with the global Ericsson On-Demand and Core Network Services vision specifically focusing on the public cloud and as-a-Service model for the sub-services.
  • In collaboration with Technology Evolution, drive the architecture and technical direction for all sub-services, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency at hyperscaler.
  • Lead the adoption of modern engineering practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), site reliability engineering (SRE), and cloud-native development methodologies across the relevant sub-services and collaboratively with the European engineering head to ensure an aligned approach.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative, and results-oriented engineering culture that emphasizes accountability and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to define the engineering ways of working and deliverables in accordance with the business, technology, security and compliance requirements and ensure alignment to those processes and ways of working.
  • Ensure the successful, timely, and high-quality delivery (including functional, non-functional and security/compliance) of all relevant sub-services, from initial incubation/trials to commercial deployments to scaling up to support a growing customer base.
  • Provide sub-services expertise through the SRE Prime roles in your team towards the SRE organization, enabling close collaboration and blameless culture of inter-working and DevOps culture
  • Establish and monitor metrics for engineering productivity, quality, and operational health.


The skills you bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and scaling technical engineering teams, with a track record of driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Core Network Services, Core Network User Plane, telecom infrastructure, or on-demand service models.
  • Cloud Architecture: Proven experience defining product requirements or technical strategies utilizing Public Cloud Architecture / Hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Agile & Devops Leadership: Strong background leading teams in an Agile environment with deep familiarity in SRE practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
  • Core Network User Plane Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of the User Plane (UPF) architecture within 4G/5G Core Networks. This includes strong familiarity with 3GPP standards, high-performance packet processing technologies (such as DPDK, SR-IOV, or eBPF), traffic steering, and the deployment of decoupled User Plane functions across distributed cloud/edge environments
  • Strong technical acumen; ability to converse fluently with enterprise architects and software engineers regarding complex sub-services.
  • High adaptability and flexibility to pivot strategies in support of evolving business needs.
  • Deep expertise in public cloud infrastructure, as-a-Service models, and DevOps principles.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and as-a-Service business models
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex business challenges into clear technical strategies and execution plans

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner, specifically in a cloud-native environment or with cloud infrastructure and tooling.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Ability and desire to communicate transparently and optimally with stakeholders and leaders on the state of our flow and to raise and address constraints.
  • Clear understanding and ability to take business-risk based decisions on prioritizations between new features and non-functional enablers.
  • Experience in leading teams to deliver high-quality, customer-centric products, and managing teams across multiple locations
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across regional lines (e.g., aligning with European engineering heads).

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is

• Ottawa: $129,500CAD- $ 170,100CAD

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan : Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
