Bright Pattern is looking for our Pleasanton, CA office: a Controller to assist us in overseeing and managing the financial reporting and analysis functions within the company assuming a hands-on role. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting, while also providing strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support key decision-making processes.You will collaborate closely with the senior leadership and supervise the Accounting, to deliver comprehensive financial insights and maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead a small group of individuals, guiding and supporting them in their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and presentation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Regularly review all bookkeeping/accounting to ensure consistency with GAAP
- Oversee the preparation of business activity reporting, financial reports, and statements
- Develop and implement financial analysis methodologies to assess the company’s performance, financial health, and growth prospects
- Assist the management with strategic analysis, budgeting, and forecasting while taking lead on assigned projects
- Establish and maintain internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
- Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process to facilitate smooth and efficient audits
- Participate in the development of the annual budget and long-term financial plans, aligning them with the company’s strategic objectives
Qualifications and Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred for this role
- 7+ years of accounting experience with at least 4 years being in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and proficiency in financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with a high degree of organization, allowing for prioritization of multiple tasks with a high attention to detail
- SaaS experience is preferred
