What you'll be doing 

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Customer Information Services (ECIS) team. As an Consultant, Back End Developer, you'll will with senior teams and levels on multiple ECIS applications. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications. 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

How you'll succeed 

  • Design and Development- Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.  

  • Strategic Planning- Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications. 

  • Team Management Skills- Work with ECIS team on multiple applications to lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving. 

Who you are 

  • You can demonstrate 8 years experience in. Microservices, Java/J2EE, JSON REST API, XML SOAP,RDBMS/SQL, Docker, Maven/Gradle, Postman, Junit, App security Scan tools (Sonar, Fortify, Blackduck), Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), Jenkins, CI/CD, and GIT. It’s an asset if you are fluent in Object Oriented Design, structured Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), and Agile environment.
