Position Title: Construction Logistics Specialist II

Location: Los Angeles, CA - (On-Site) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) (candidates must be willing and able to work on-site in accordance with LAWA policy; a LAWA Badge and federal background check are required)

Salary Range: $114,000 - $119,000 annually

Job Description:
• Serves as a wayfinding specialist with multiple years of airport experience, skilled in creating, implementing, and overseeing temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow and user experience.
• Manages multiple collaborative wayfinding projects with multidisciplinary teams, including staff with technical and non-technical backgrounds, coordinating across disciplines and meeting multiple deadlines under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Reads, interprets, and analyzes project schedules, Gantt charts, and design plans, evaluating signage needs based on construction activities, environmental factors, and user expectations to maintain effective wayfinding.
• Reviews project submittals, including Phasing Plans and Site Logistics Plans submitted through the ASR and LIR processes, with a keen eye for wayfinding impacts.
• Develops concepts, location plans, and proposed wayfinding paths of travel with high visual impact using strong visualization skills.
• Plans, produces, and installs temporary wayfinding that translates complex information into easy-to-understand visuals.
• Conducts hands-on installation procedures, including regular site walks to evaluate signage effectiveness and update plans as needed.
• Tracks phasing for production and installation schedules across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and a holistic approach across projects.
• Maintains high attention to detail in verifying the quality and consistency of signage and wayfinding elements, ensuring visual appeal and usability across all materials.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, preferably on airport building programs or similar complex building programs.

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or any other relevant professional licensure or certification.

Knowledge/Skills
• Proficient in assessing signage quality, visual appeal, and adherence to standards, with the ability to recommend sign types specific to each project.
• In-depth understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, and font specifications, along with knowledge of signage, temporary wayfinding, and mapping industry best practices.
• Skilled in layout and information design, including the formatting of wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder updates, and presentation materials, applying visual hierarchy, consistency, readability, and brand/program standards.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical or field-based information to both project teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam for creating, editing, and reviewing visual materials and layouts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) for project communication, scheduling, and documentation.

• Must pass a federal background check; a LAWA Badge is required.

The offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $114,000 - $119,000 annually.
