Job DescriptionBAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking an experienced Software Configuration Analyst to join our team. This individual will support the Software Configuration Management (SCM) activities across assigned programs and teams, helping to maintain process consistency and compliance while working under the guidance of the SCM Lead.
What You'll Do:- Responsible for managing the Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB).
- Responsible for the creation, review, maintenance, and compliance of the Software Configuration Management Plan (SCMP) for the program(s).
- Support any SCM process updates as required.
- Review any potential program tailoring as it applies to SCM and provide feedback to the programs as required.
- Support branching and merging - should have significant knowledge relating to branching and merging strategies.
- Ensure versioning used across programs complies with SCM processes and/or industry standards.
- Collaborate with other SCM roles to drive process improvements for SCM activities. Identify any potential gaps in the build process and coordinate with your SCM Lead before implementing any proposed solutions/changes.
- Provide accountability of all artifact repositories and source code repos while maintaining accurate records for "sources of truth" used on the assigned programs.
- Support and manage the release process and establishment of software and firmware baselines in the PLM tool. This includes auditing the release documents, the software code baseline, and delivering the software artifacts to the customer.
- Manage the software handoffs between teams, subcontractors, and customers.
- Support configuration status accounting and track deliverables to ensure records are accurate.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and subcontractors, ensuring process integrity and successful execution across all phases of the software lifecycle.
- Expertise in utilizing tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins, ensuring their effective adoption and use across the program.
- Experience with creating custom reporting to support program oversight and decision making.

Preferred Skills and Education- Configuration Management certifications (e.g., CMII, NDIA, CMPIC).
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with PLM tools (e.g., ARAS Innovator, Windchill, Oracle Agile).
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., EIA-649).
