This position may be performed remotely from the following locations within the United States of America: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The ServiceNow System Developer II plays a key role in managing and maturing of the OU Health's ServiceNow platform. The position is responsible for performing development and support activities, as well as supporting System Administrator escalations of complex platform issues. In addition, this role will support all installed modules (currently ITSM and SPM), as well as custom applications. The ServiceNow System Developer II will also be responsible for technical design, ServiceNow code development and work with OUH business units to build solutions and workflow, supporting their maintenance, continual service improvement, and new capabilities on the ServiceNow platform.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day administration of service requests to the ServiceNow team pertaining to creating users, group management, and data management.
  • Implement, test, and deploy business rules, technical solutions, such as client scripts, UI pages/actions/policies, scheduled job, import sets and transform maps, notifications.
  • Work with system architect to fully understand business functionality, pain points, and areas of improvement.
  • Proactively keep ServiceNow skills current to drive platform expansion, adoption and organization initiatives.
  • Perform ServiceNow implementation tasks including but not limited to: CMDB.
  • Develop clear and concise technical and process documentation.
  • Maintain the integrity of the ServiceNow tool across production and non-production environments.
  • Understand new ServiceNow features and unused module functionality.
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of the ServiceNow product, version upgrades and enhancements, new features, etc.
  • Assist in the technical solution aspect of ServiceNow implementations specific to design, solution architecture, integrations and functional implementation
  • Identify inefficiencies to ultimately implement areas of automation and development.
  • Participate in the upgrade cycle for ServiceNow, including coordination of clones, upgrades and testing (via use of the Automated Test Framework).
  • Assist with the design of ServiceNow integrations and work with business partners and technical teams for implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of ServiceNow platform experience administering the platform, monitoring performance, deploying applications, building out catalog items and workflows required.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) required.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) required within 18 months of hire.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
  • Understanding and ability with writing and debugging: Glide functions and APIs (Global and Scoped), UI Framework, UI Builder Components, JavaScript (ES5 & ES6), JSON, XML, AngularJS, Jelly, HTML, CSS
  • Hands on experience with: Workspaces, UI Builder, Flow Designer, Playbooks, Decision tables, Process Automation Designer, Service Portal, Widgets, UI Macros, UI Pages, ServiceNow Studio, Scoped Application Development, REST API concepts and troubleshooting
  • Ability to review requirements, understand the associated business process and how the requested changes will fit within. This includes assessing the impact of changes on other processes and applications, raising any concerns or red flags and understanding the Why behind each change being made.
  • Advanced communication skills (written and speaking skills)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work with relational database concepts
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow development methodologies and practices
  • Experience with enabling and configuration of multiple ServiceNow modules
  • Experience with the enablement of business Process Automation.
  • Experience in assisting the upgrading the most current and previous release of ServiceNow
  • Experience creating and maintaining ServiceNow documentation and training
