About The Role
We’re looking for a strong Account Manager to support our Complex Risk Unit Commercial accounts in Toronto. This role involves working closely with the Assistant Vice President, of the Complex Risks Unit and requires someone who is responsive, has strong time management skills, and has good knowledge of property and casualty experience. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical and systems experience.
What You’ll Do
- Act as one of the primary points of contact in a client-facing placement insurance broker role for an assigned book;
- Be responsible for maintaining key client and insurer relationships
- Meet existing client’s needs, including but not limited to quotes, premium adjustments, endorsements, renewals, and claims
- Prepare and monitor insurance submissions, proposals, and summaries of insurance with the support of an account assistant for the processing of binders, certificates, and billings
- Negotiate with insurers to best meet the needs of the client in conjunction with the producer remarketing where necessary
- Collect premiums from clients in a timeline pursuant to HUB standards
What You’ll Need for Success
- RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario) license Required
- Typically, 5+ years of commercial insurance experience
- Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset
- Strong aptitude to learn new risks along with a desire to keep up to date with emerging trends
- Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability and client management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
- A Solid team player who also possesses independence of thought
- Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems
The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., base salary plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at a particular time. The expected base salary for this position is $69,000-$119,000. The total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
