SAIC is seeking a Test & Evaluation Engineer to contribute to the success of the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Mission Systems (MS) [formerly Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS)] Unified TestBed. The tasking specifically focuses on the AEGIS Combat System and Enterprise Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS) Modeling & Simulation. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact Navy mission readiness by ensuring high-fidelity modeling and simulation tools meet the performance expectations of Navy combat systems.

This position requires an active Interim Secret clearance to begin work with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Position is located in Washington DC with local commute to testing sites.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide Program Office management support
  • Use advanced modeling techniques to support mission and operational requirements for Navy combat systems with particular focus on AEGIS Combat System and SSDS
  • Develop combat system Developmental Tests from formal requirements documentation for inclusion into the Unified TestBed.
  • Conduct operational and system effectiveness trade-off studies, test planning, and validation activities
  • Analyze test planning documents, focusing on establishing clear Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and supporting accurate operational requirements
  • Collaborate across teams and stakeholders, including the Operational Test & Evaluation Force (OTF formerly COTF), to certify simulation outcomes meet requirements and reflect Navy combat system live-fire performance data.
  • Develop tailored TestBed solutions with a team of experienced engineers to address specific Navy needs

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience with Navy combat systems, including hands-on involvement with AEGIS Combat System, SSDS, or other Navy combat-related programs and solutions.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • The Ideal candidate has prior service USN Surface Warfare Officer with operational/tactical experience, or experience with Operational Test& Evaluation Force.
