We areseekinga highly capableCloud Infrastructure & Automation Engineerto support and secure large-scale infrastructure, cloud, and platform operations acrossfederal environments. You willbe responsible fordeploying, managing, andoptimizingAWS and hybrid infrastructure, with a strong emphasis onautomation, security, compliance, and mission continuityfor critical workloads.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, outcomes-driven, and comfortable collaborating across engineering, security, networking, and data teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure in regulated environments.
What You Will Do:
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation (AWS /IaC)
Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS servicesincludingidentity, compute, storage, backups, networking, logging, and monitoringusingTerraformor similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Deploy, configure, harden, andmaintaininfrastructure acrossAWS and hybrid environmentsfollowing secure baseline standards.
Standardize reusableIaCmodules, promote best practices, and improve environment consistency across dev/test/prod.
DevOps Enablement & Operational Excellence
Build and enhanceCI/CD pipelinesand modern DevOps workflows using tools such asGit, Terraform, Jenkins, AWSCodePipeline, and Docker.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and automation issues to ensurereliability, performance, and mission continuity.
Implement operational visibility with logging/monitoring improvements and actionable dashboards (as applicable to your environment).
Security, Compliance, and Resilience
Apply cybersecurity best practices and supportzero-trustand compliance-aligned infrastructure operations (e.g.,NIST, CIS, ISO 27000).
Collaborate with security and networking teams to implement secure configurations, change controls, and audit-ready operational processes.
Supportbusiness continuityanddisaster recovery (DR)requirements and operational readiness.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with engineering, security, networking, and application teams to support mission needs and delivery timelines.
Partner with data engineers and scientists to enable infrastructure needs fordata pipelinesandmachine learning workflows.
Maintain high-quality engineering documentation includingSOPs, system diagrams, and secure configuration baselines.
Summarize and present findings and recommendationsoth written and verbalor technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor27s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field or FOUR (4) equivalent experience in leu of degree.
Minimum SIX (6) yearsof hands-on experience inAWS, cloud infrastructure, and/or enterprise IT operations.
Strong hands-onexpertisewithTerraformfor AWS infrastructure automation.
Experience building and operatingCI/CD pipelinesand DevOps practices with tools such asGit, Terraform, Jenkins, AWSCodePipeline, Docker.
Strong scripting skills inPythonandBash.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices,zero-trust concepts, and compliance frameworks such asNIST, CIS, ISO 27000.
Experience usingAI-assisted coding tools(e.g.,GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Kiro) to accelerate delivery whilemaintainingstrict quality via testing, reviews, and security practices.
Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture functions.
Eligibility for Public Trustand ability to complete federal background screening.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer 6 Professional(or equivalent).
CompTIA Security+.
Experience provisioning and implementing data pipelines forlakehouseplatforms such asDatabricksor AWS services includingS3, Lake Formation, Glue, and Athena.
Ability to design andoptimizeAWS data solutions, includingmigration pipelines, ETL workflows, and serverless architectures.
Experience with monitoring and SIEM tools such asCloudWatchandSplunk.
Experience supporting enterprisebusiness continuityanddisaster recovery (DR)solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
