Position Highlights The Chair of Critical Care Medicine will:
- Develop and execute a bold vision and strategic plan to grow and innovate the department
- Drive excellence across Mayo Clinic's three shields: Practice, Research, and Education
- Ensure delivery of exceptional, patient-centered critical care outcomes
- Lead recruitment, development, and retention of world-class faculty
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across specialties including pulmonary, anesthesia, surgery, and subspecialty ICUs
- Advance clinical innovation, including digital health, AI, and emerging critical care technologies
- Strengthen the department's academic mission through scholarly activity and program development
- Partner with institutional leadership to meet operational, financial, and growth objectives

QualificationsIdeal Candidate Profile
- MD or DO with board certification in Critical Care Medicine
- Eligible for Florida medical licensure
- Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher preferred
- Demonstrated record of leadership in an academic medical center or large healthcare system
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
- Established record of scholarly activity, research, and/or educational leadership
- Strong commitment to mentorship and faculty development
- Recognized as a leader and innovator in critical care medicine
- Ability to collaborate across complex systems and build national/international partnerships
