Who we're looking for:
Rogers Network Procurement is seeking a Category Lead eager to join the team. Reporting to the Director, Managed Services & Supplier Governance, the Category Lead will be responsible for driving data-driven procurement decision-making and supplier performance management across telecom network, customer operations, and corporate spend categories. The successful candidate will be responsible for category intelligence, lead supplier performance programs, establish KPI frameworks, generate actionable insights, and collaborate with sourcing, finance, network engineering, operations, and suppliers to achieve business objectives. This role combines procurement expertise, business intelligence, analytics, supplier governance, and performance management to optimize supplier value, reduce risk, improve service delivery, and support strategic sourcing initiatives. This individual must be an excellent communicator with proven ability to influence at various levels within the organization. This individual must excel in a culture of continuous improvement leveraging innovation and system-based tools to increase efficiency and value.

What you'll do:
  • Procurement Business Intelligence Responsibilities:
    • Analyze spend, savings, supplier performance, contract compliance, demand trends, and procurement KPIs.
    • Transform procurement and supplier data into actionable insights for category managers and leadership teams.
    • Lead spend analytics initiatives to identify cost optimization opportunities.
    • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement performance reviews.
    • Support and maintain supplier scorecards, and executive reporting using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Supplier Performance Management Responsibilities:
    • Establish and manage supplier performance governance programs across strategic telecom suppliers.
    • Establish supplier scorecards, performance metrics, and service level measurements.
    • Monitor supplier performance against contractual commitments, KPIs, SLAs, and operational targets.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive supplier governance meetings.
    • Identify supplier performance gaps and coordinate corrective action plans.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers.
    • Track supplier innovation, value creation, risk mitigation, and sustainability commitments.
  • Strategic Procurement Support Responsibilities:
    • Support category managers with market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and performance insights.
    • Provide analytical support during RFx processes, contract negotiations, and supplier evaluations.
    • Support supplier consolidation and supplier rationalization initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process improvement.


What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in business analysist, procurement, vendor management, contract management, or a related commercial function.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, commercial agreements, sourcing initiatives, and procurement projects in complex business environments.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications networks, infrastructure, technologies, products, or services is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Understanding of supplier risk management, contract management, and governance principles.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence successful business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with procurement, sourcing, and spend management platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, iValua).
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, data manipulation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex data effectively.
