Department Overview
The Response & Reporting engineering organization does not simply develop software; we architect the operational intelligence engines that secure communities worldwide. We build and maintain the mission-critical platforms used by public safety agencies to orchestrate live incident command, manage massive ecosystems of digital evidence, process electronic records, and drive real-time crime analytics. When seconds matter, our code is the operational backbone for first responders.

To be successful, one must manage multiple projects simultaneously, at various stages of their development, from idea to completed feature.

  • Develop strong relationships with UI/UX teams and work in close partnership with research and design colleagues.
  • Actively involved in initiative and epic refinement as an integral member of the Product Management team.
  • Responsible for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog, including user stories, defects, and research spikes.
  • Review and prioritize the backlog as part of the preparatory work for release and sprint planning, including coordination of dependencies with other POs.
  • Contribute to the roadmap.
  • Involved in release planning, reviewing vision, and content presentations to assigned engineering team(s).
  • Collaborate with the team to detail user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain the proper flow of features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in the backlog.
  • Agree on accepted story completion, including validating that the story meets acceptance criteria and that it complies with the Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Understand the scope of needed research spikes and collaborate with Engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with the team and any other stakeholders in the team demo.
  • Lead and participate in the appropriate agile ceremonies.
  • Integrate generative and agentic AI utilities directly into the product lifecycle to accelerate the documentation of complex system requirements and user flows.
  • Leverage advanced AI workflows to draft highly granular user stories and comprehensive acceptance criteria, ensuring standard technical clarity across teams.
  • Utilize AI to automate repetitive administrative SDLC tasks, including initial release notes drafting, alignment summaries, and backlog template generation.

  • Exceptional communicator-especially in writing. You take pride in crafting user stories that are crisp, testable, and aligned to business goals.
  • Able to translate complex ideas into language that's useful to both engineers and
