Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:As part of a secretarial team, the Legal Support Specialist is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other administrative personnel. Primary responsibilities include preparing, proofreading, and editing legal documents, document formatting, processing new business requests and opening new matters, file management, conference and travel arrangements, expense report processing, time entry, and other duties as required.
Hours for the position are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Must be available for occasional overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications:- High school diploma; degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of secretarial experience in a legal environment.
- Expertise in civil litigation including federal and state court filings.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must have superior administrative competencies including effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid proofreading skills and strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills. Ability to respond to changing priorities.
- Must have strong service orientation and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with lawyers, clients, and others outside the Firm.
Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting pay scale for this Los Angeles position is $95,000 - $120,000.
