Overview

Our Buying role is about taking calculated risks that create a buzz in the marketplace and supplying the products our consumers will love. This positionmaintainsgreat vendor relationships, researches the market landscape, is innovative, and negotiates the best opportunities. You will work closely with our Planning, Allocation, Marketing, and Store Optimization teams while always keeping our target demographic in mindtoprovide compelling assortments that turn our customers' heads.

Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with vendorsandproduct development toestablisha line ofproductsthat meets the needs of ourcustomers, while maximizing sales, profit,and gross margin
  • Analyze sales reports and market trends toestablisha pattern of projected sales
  • Work withtheAllocation team to ensure proper distribution and allocation of product
  • Work with the Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) to plan line review studies and reports to build a product line for a given season
  • Prepare all reports for all budget and sales meetings
  • Field traveltokeep track of trends within the marketplace
  • Vendor travel for pre-lines and product previews
  • Work withtheLogistics department and Buyers from other divisionstocoordinate product delivery
  • Effectively partner with Planning and Merchandising teamstodevelop financial plans for future seasons
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines whileremainingflexible to change priorities
  • Effectivelyinterface withSenior Executives and make recommendations
  • Creatively negotiate the best termstomaximize sales and profits
  • Understand product, customers, and market & fashion trends
Qualifications

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $105000 - $115000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
