The Opportunity

The Business Solution Specialist supports business lines and functional support teams in improving day-to-day operational effectiveness through process optimization, workflow improvements, and automation solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across the organization, this role identifies opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, enhance employee productivity, and leverage automation and AI tools where appropriate to drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate discussions and working sessions with business units and functional support teams to understand operational challenges and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze existing workflows and procedures to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual tasks, and improve productivity.
  • Assist business teams in identifying suitable use cases for automation and AI adoption.
  • Support business units and functional support teams in designing, building, testing (planning and execution), and deploying workflow automations using approved technologies and platforms including AI-enabled solutions and ensure the solutions meet business requirements prior to deployment.
  • Deliver training and support activities to encourage adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and performance indicators to monitor process and automation effectiveness, leveraging operational metrics and business analytics to identify improvement opportunities and measure outcomes.
  • Research emerging technologies and identify opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Create and maintain current-state and future-state process documentation, including process maps, workflows and supporting controls, in accordance with corporate governance requirements.
  • Support control testing and audit adherence cross-functionally.

What You Bring
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement methodologies, workflow analysis, or automation technologies.


Preferred:

  • Microsoft Power Platform Certifications
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent)
  • Agile, Scrum, CAPM, or OCEB 2 certification


  • 3-5 Years in Process improvement, business analysis, automation, operational excellence, workflow optimization, continuous improvement, or related functions.
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvement opportunities.
  • Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and requirements using BPMN and/or UML standards.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate and related tools.
  • Understanding of AI technologies, AI agents, and workflow automation concepts.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and functional support teams.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.

Nice to haves

  • Experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Alteryx (or another workflow automation tool), SQL, PostgreSQL, or other database technologies, Snowflake Products, and/or Power BI tools. .
  • Experience building AI agents, chatbots, or business productivity solutions.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN, UML or Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, or enterprise AI adoption initiatives.
  • Familiarity with change management and employee adoption practices.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is (80,000-100,000). Compensation may vary for roles in other regions to reflect local market conditions and currency differences. At Tokio Marine Canada, our salary ranges are designed to reflect the skills, experience, and responsibilities required for each role while providing room for growth. For experienced professionals, offers are typically positioned near the midpoint of the range. The upper end of the range is reserved for individuals who consistently deliver exceptional performance and impact. Candidates who are newer to the role may start below the midpoint, with opportunities to progress as they develop. Final offer decisions take into account factors such as location, relevant experience, and individual skill set.

We work in a hybrid model, and you should expect to split your time between working in the office and working remotely, with flexibility based on the role and the business needs. We currently have an office in downtown Toronto and will eventually be establishing offices in other provinces. Should you currently work in a province where we do not have an office, you will remain remote until such time as we do establish an office.
