What is the opportunity?

RBC AI Group is building its Events function to support the organization's growth and enable our culture. As a Senior Manager, Events, you will play a critical role in creating thoughtful and impactful experiences that showcase the AI Group's culture and drive engagement. You'll strategically design and execute AI Group events, ranging from intimate team gatherings and offsites to large-scale conferences and external events.

As the function is in its early stages, you'll have the opportunity to shape the events strategy and operating model for the AI Group. Joining a team that believes in being bold & curious, you'll thrive if you're driven, eager to make an impact, and think outside the box!

What will you do?

  • Lead the end-to-end design and execution of signature AI Group events, from intimate leadership offsites to flagship employee galas and external ecosystem events.
  • Develop creative, bespoke event experiences that reflect the AI Group's culture, values, and strategic priorities, while delivering memorable moments that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Manage all event logistics and supplier relationships, including sourcing, negotiating and managing vendor contracts, directing themes and activations, and overseeing production elements (video, staging, AV, and facility staff).
  • Anticipate potential challenges, develop contingency plans proactively, and problem-solve solutions in real-time to ensure flawless event delivery despite unexpected obstacles.
  • Create compelling event communications and materials, including agendas, scripts, executive briefs, and post-event feedback surveys.
  • Own all event budgets independently, including financial forecasting, expenditure tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal and external partners throughout the entire event lifecycle to ensure alignment and exceptional delivery.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 8+ years of industry and leadership experience associated with event planning.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing innovative, one-of-a-kind events that reflect brand identity and create memorable experiences.
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges, develop contingency plans proactively, and think quickly on your feet to problem-solve solutions in real-time.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to interact effectively with senior level management.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment, with strong leadership skills.
  • Flexibility, diplomacy, and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for various event locations/sites, as required.


Nice-to-have
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience working in the AI, technology, or emerging tech talent markets.
