SMI is looking for a Business Manager to join their team in Dallas, Texas.
This position is based in our Dallas office.
Ideal candidate must have the following skills and experience:
- A track record for growing top line revenue through identification of new business opportunities, development of effective business strategies and expanding client count.
- Experience with managing and leading client businesses to include accountability for client planning, promotional plan development and implementation, achievement of sales, revenue, and profit goals.
- Comfortable with developing and leading quarterly business reviews with clients and retailers.
- A background in the Health & Beauty channel is preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have a clear understanding of industry trends, and keen sense for emerging innovations. Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The successful candidate is a team player, creative, disciplined, and capable of managing multiple client relationships across 5 retailers. Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office skills are essential, along with accurate data entry skills. Ability to work autonomously with an ambition to grow and learn in the position is expected.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for managing the day-to-day business for clients in the military channel. Provide all necessary analysis and recommendations to improve client, retailer, and SMI ROI.
- Work with clients to drive product sales and brand development within the military channel.
- Be the military channel expert for all clients - providing guidance on promotions, assortments, MDF investments, pricing and retail strategies and tactics.
- Identify trendsetter products / suppliers by researching industry and developing understanding of industry.
- Identify potential new business partners; discover and explore opportunities to grow business. Assist in developing new client leads and broadening of division portfolio.
- Work closely with manufacturers to maintain an accurate monthly pricing and product database for each retailer. Responsible for keeping customer service and retail team informed.
- Support Exchange customers and clients by providing item set-up, suggested order quantities, overstocks.
- Collaborate with business intelligence team during development of market / sales analysis reporting and market share. Ability to draw conclusions and provide insights on own
- Track presentations, promotions, and category reviews, analyzing results for future presentations and planning.
- Interface with retail sales team, principals, and military buyers
- Perform ad hoc requests for direct supervisor as deemed necessary for service to client and customer.
- Responsible for other job-related duties, including but not limited to:
- POS requirements
- Coordinate distribution of product samples and coupons
- Provide necessary selling material for retail program execution.
- Product demonstration coordination
- Tracking of client MDF funds
- Weekly review of customer inventory status reports, cross-reference reports, and other applicable
- Special projects and other tasks that may be assigned as needed.
