Job Description:

Job Purpose:

To strategize and develop current and new customers and programs to increase the success of the business.

Extensive travel required to visit customers, both in the United States and internationally. This is an exempt level position and hours will vary depending on business needs. Some weekend work required.

Examples of Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of business plans for the division. Provides the proper forecasting and marketing information to support the business plans for the various product lines.
  • Analyzes the market for potential new programs or customer opportunities for the division. Works closely with outside sales in the identification and validity of the programs.
  • Establishes pricing for all products. Ensures proper margins are in place. Works closely with engineering and manufacturing, to ensure on time delivery and that customer requirements are met.
  • Ensures that the proper organizational structure is in place to support the customer and outside sales force. Provides market guidance to subordinates and the organization. Coaches, mentors and trains, Product Specialist, and Product Managers. Provides guidance and direction as necessary.
  • Calls on procurement specialists, managers, engineers, or other professional and technical personnel at customer locations and attempts to convince prospective customers of desirability and practicability of products offered, and negotiate contracts.
  • Directs internal and external activities related to the management of products and programs.
  • Performs market research and identify new products and businesses opportunities that support the grow of the respective division.
  • Controls program performance, according to plan. Investigates and resolves customer issues.
  • Delegates projects to Product Managers, Product Specialists, and CSR's as required.
  • Works to develop promotional materials to reinforce the division's capabilities and core market strengths.

Qualifications Guidelines:

Experience/Training/Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, or related field, and 10 years related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous aeropace manufacturing experience in a similar role.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in the bearing or fastener market, in distribution at manufacturing level.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that confirm to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and customers, both written and oral.
  • Basic understanding of common technical problem and solutions.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office Suite and Excel.


Physical and Environmental Elements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.


Min/Max: $105k to$120K.
