SUMMARYThe Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and growing sales performance within an assigned market, district, or region. This role oversees business development strategies, manages key customer relationships, and provides leadership to the sales team to drive revenue growth, customer retention, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, coach and mentor team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure exceptional customer experiences while achieving organizational objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead, coach, and develop Business Development Specialists and other assigned sales personnel to achieve individual and team performance goals.
- Manage sales performance within an assigned market, district, or region, ensuring revenue, profitability, and customer growth objectives are met or exceeded.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand market share and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key customers while supporting the sales team in managing high-value accounts.
- Monitor sales pipelines, customer activity, and performance metrics to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
- Establish and communicate sales goals, KPIs, and performance expectations while holding team members accountable for results.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Finance to deliver effective customer solutions and improve overall business performance.
- Support the resolution of complex customer concerns, escalated issues, and account-related challenges in a timely and professional manner.
- Review and approve customer orders, returns, credits, pricing exceptions, and other sales-related transactions as required.
- Analyze sales data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor new sales team members.
- Recommend process improvements and strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
- Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, industry events, and business development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate high-performing sales teams.
- Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding sales goals and business growth objectives.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Experience with sales forecasting, reporting, and performance analytics.
- Bilingual skills are a strong plus.
