Full Job Description
Lead with Purpose. Partner with Impact.

The Business Development Manager builds and works a prospect pipeline across Madison, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee. The role sources and qualifies prospective clients, secures introductory meetings for advisors, and maintains the referral relationships and campaign follow-through that keep that pipeline full. The seat is accountable for its own activity and results, and it carries no supervisory responsibility. The Head of Business Development owns the firm's growth strategy and the firm-wide pipeline. Advisors own the close and the client relationship that follows. This position suits an experienced business development professional who works effectively across markets without formal authority.

What You'll Do:

Prospect Sourcing and Qualification:
  • Source prospective clients across all three markets through referral channels, campaign response, and direct outreach.
  • Qualify prospects against the firm's client criteria and document the basis for each qualification decision before an advisor meeting is set.
  • Secure introductory meetings and brief the receiving advisor on the prospect's situation, history, and what prompted the conversation.

Pipeline Management:
  • Own your prospect pipeline, keeping stage, source, and next action current for every active opportunity.
  • Maintain a consistent follow-up cadence, including long-cycle prospects who are not yet ready to move.
  • Report your pipeline volume, conversion, and source performance to the Head of Business Development, and flag where activity is falling short of plan.

Referral Channels and Campaign Conversion:
  • Build and maintain relationships with centers of influence, including attorneys, CPAs, and community organizations, and route their referrals to the right advisor in the right market.
  • Convert marketing campaigns, events, and educational programming into scheduled meetings through structured follow-up.
  • Share what is working across channels, markets, and campaign types with the Head of Business Development, so firm-wide effort can be directed accordingly.
