Job Summary

We are seeking a Backend Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot. This role is responsible for building high-performance RESTful APIs, event-driven solutions, and cloud-native applications while leveraging AWS services and modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, GraphQL, cloud technologies, and AI-augmented engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop high-performance RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and microservices to support enterprise applications.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka or other messaging technologies.
• Build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate backend services with user interfaces.
• Develop scalable and resilient distributed systems following modern software engineering best practices.
• Integrate AI agents and Large Language Model (LLM) APIs to automate and enhance backend workflows.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions to ensure high-quality software solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes.
• Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL database solutions to support scalable applications.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application performance and production issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver new features and platform enhancements.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to application architecture and engineering practices.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot application development.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and microservices.
• Strong experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka or other messaging platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application deployment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience using Git and modern version control workflows.
• Strong understanding of backend testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with AI agent workflows, including tool calling, multi-step task orchestration, and LLM-powered backend solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar platforms.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience implementing highly scalable event-driven applications using Kafka or other message queue technologies.
• Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns and distributed system design principles.
• Experience optimizing backend application performance and scalability in AWS environments.
