Job Summary
We are seeking a Mainframe Assembler Developer to design, develop, test, and support enterprise mainframe applications using IBM Assembler. This role is responsible for developing efficient low-level code, troubleshooting application issues, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with architects and analysts to deliver reliable mainframe solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with IBM Assembler, z/OS, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, code, test, and maintain enterprise applications using IBM Assembler language.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into efficient mainframe application solutions.
• Develop high-performance, low-level machine code for enterprise mainframe systems.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve application and system issues.
• Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including program design, code documentation, and operational guidelines.
• Provide technical support for production mainframe applications and system enhancements.
• Optimize application performance and ensure compliance with coding standards, technical design, and organizational best practices.
• Collaborate with system architects, analysts, developers, and other technical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve the reliability and performance of mainframe applications.
• Stay current with emerging mainframe technologies, IBM Assembler enhancements, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience developing applications using IBM Assembler language.
• Strong understanding of IBM mainframe operating systems, including z/OS.
• Experience working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving mainframe application issues.
• Knowledge of mainframe application design, coding standards, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
