Responsibilities

About the role:

This role leads the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of enterprise data products, leveraging modern cloud technologies to drive business value, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendors to optimize GMF's data ecosystem, establish performance metrics, and guide the adoption of innovative data management and transformation solutions

In this role you will:
  • Develop and lead the data product roadmap to deliver on the overall business development objectives by defining stories and prioritizing the backlog
  • Prepare & deliver product strategy, roadmap, and business case opportunities to senior, executive, and customer stakeholders
  • Be an expert in Data Software Engineering with modern cloud data technologies and lead vendor and FTE engineering resources
  • Guide the product portfolio in the adoption & usage of state-of-the-art data management, transformation, and analytics solutions
  • Develop frameworks for repeatable process(es) as it relates to testing, source data remediation etc. that can be leveraged for a cloud data migration
  • Understand program objectives and ensure key technology decisions are aligned with these objectives
  • Develop a clear understanding of GMF's data ecosystem - where the data comes from, how it gets processed & stored, and what it's used for
  • Guide the product portfolio in the adoption & usage of state-of-the-art data management, transformation, and analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with other product and Data Engineering teams on customer & product research activities. Will at times, include customer, market, or industry engagements such as phone calls, customer meetings, webinars, or conferences
  • Establish & manage to metrics for product & roadmap outcomes measurement
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of engineering initiatives
  • Regularly report progress and provide recommendations for improvements to senior leadership
  • Act as key liaison/relationship manager across all functional areas, including business units, and outside vendors
  • Available to travel internationally for business purposes


Qualifications

  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Advanced knowledge of data product management best practices
  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and serverless architectures
  • Extensive knowledge of data engineering concepts, tools, and frameworks, including data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data lakes
  • Ability to understand and relate business processes from a technical and functional standpoint
  • Strategic thinking and planning - Proactive and anticipatory in their thinking
  • Implementation experience on large data/digital transformation programs in a public/private cloud ecosystem, with a focus on data-lake and data warehouses
  • Experience running technology implementation projects using the Agile/hybrid agile methodologies in large organizations
  • Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics, and build reports
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to effectively lead, organize, and supervise
  • Ability to work directly with senior level management
  • Experience with large data sets and embedded reporting solutions
  • Experience with strategic planning, product road mapping, and business case development
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and work to tight deadlines

  • Ability to be flexible to working locations, working hours and international travel to support a global business


Additional Knowledge and Skills

Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection


Work Experience & Education
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology required
  • 5-7 years of product management in data experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience required
  • Master's Degree management or leadership experience preferred


Working Conditions
