Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Engagement Leadership: Lead client-facing engagement teams to complete audits, review engagements, Notice to Reader (compilations), compliance tax engagements, and financial/accounting transactions.
  • Technical Expertise: Deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee and review personal and corporate income tax returns, reorganizations, and other routine tax filings. Work directly with Partners to complete complex tax research and ad-hoc consulting engagements as required.
  • Portfolio & Client Management: Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value. Ensure clients' needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop.
  • Project Financials: Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPs, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
  • Team Development: Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by providing daily guidance, setting clear expectations, and developing their tax and assurance knowledge.
  • Business Development: Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.

A successful candidate will have:
  • CPA designation (Required).
  • 6+ years of relevant public accounting experience, with a strong background in private company audits, review engagements, and tax.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles, alongside strong corporate and personal taxation knowledge.
  • Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
  • Computer skills including Caseware and ProFile.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to effectively manage a team.
  • Adaptability to learning new technologies and processes to help improve efficiency and provide a better user experience for our clients.
