Overview

The Associate Media Director (AMD) leads the media strategy for major Lexus Dealer Association (LDA) markets, guiding both the work and the team behind it. This role brings together deep experience across digital, broadcast, print, and out-of-home to shape smart, forward-looking plans that anticipate client needs and market changes. The AMD manages staff, builds strong relationships with field partners, and ensures high-quality, innovative media solutions. Travel is required to support key client and agency meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of market and area media plans and projects, identifying ways to make processes more insightful, efficient, and creative
  • Responsible for assigned market LDA financials including flowcharts, billing discrepancies, and vendor negotiations
  • Supervise and support the planning team in developing sound, strategic media recommendations
  • Collaborate with bullpen to support and/or approve their work on your assigned markets
    • Goal entries and buy authorizations
    • Flow charts and budgets
    • Budget and Billing Reconciliations
    • Financial Discrepancies
    • Maintain digital buys and compile / analyze metrics reports
    • Review and approve spot buys for accuracy based on provided guidelines.
  • Developing Heavy Up/Cut recommendations
  • Ensure accuracy and timely updates of the Master Planning Sheets
  • Communicate regularly with the Media Director regarding project issues and deadlines
  • Delegate tasks and follow up with team members and agency counterparts to ensure timely and high-quality project completion
  • Develop POVs (Points of View) on a variety of media opportunities and provide strategic guidance to junior team members
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the media community
  • Create and potentially deliver client presentations for dealer meetings using PowerPoint or other presentation tools
  • Inspire and encourage CORE behavior across the team
  • Travel as needed to support client and agency meetings and initiatives
  • Attend market meetings, providing media thought leadership and expertise.
  • In the absence of a local Supervisor:
    • Delegate tasks and follow up with junior team members and agency partners to ensure timely project completion
  • In the absence of a local Media Director:
    • Manage and oversee regional LDA media team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational excellence
    • Attend regional board meetings, market/area meetings, and calls as needed to represent media priorities and provide strategic input
    • Lead the preparation and maintenance of market and area media plans and projects, driving improvements in insight, efficiency, and creativity
    • Communicate regularly with two-area media lead regarding project issues and deadlines

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 6.5+ years of agency or other media related experience and 1.5 - 2 years working as a Supervisor with cross discipline experience (broadcast, digital, print, OOH)
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MediaOcean (OX), Mediatools/Guideline, Prisma, CMR, IMS and MRI/Simmons
  • Experience presenting in person to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Confidence in media knowledge
  • Clear communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to confidently interact with field staff and clients
  • Confident leadership skills - experience managing and mentoring junior team members; must provide proper direction on projects - setting appropriate timelines, prioritizing projects to ensure efficiency of workflow, and reviewing the work for accuracy
  • Good time management skills - ability to prioritize projects and meet tight deadlines when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy on both internal and client-facing work

Compensation Range: USD $97,375.00 - USD $155,961.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
