Full Job Description
About the Role:

We're hiring Associate Director of Product Marketing - Verticals to join our growing marketing team. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a sharp, market-savvy product marketer who understands the nuances of regulated and high-stakes advertising categories and knows how to build programs that scale.

You'll own go-to-market strategy and execution for PubMatic's key verticals, anchored in high-growth regulated categories such as Political, Pharma, Gambling, and others, while also leading the charge into emerging and under-indexed verticals like Auto, Travel, and beyond. This is a role for someone who wants to build, not just maintain: building category presence, building sales confidence, and building the frameworks that let PubMatic punch above its weight in verticals that demand precision and credibility.

You'll balance inbound work (bringing customer, market, and competitive intelligence back to product and commercial) with outbound execution (positioning, launch, enablement, and content) to ensure PubMatic's vertical story lands with relevance and impact.

This role is based in New York City.

What You'll Do:
  • Vertical GTM Strategy: Own the go-to-market strategy for PubMatic's priority verticals, including Political, Pharma and Gambling, and lead the identification and activation of high-potential expansion verticals (Auto, Travel, and others). Define the narrative, the proof points, and the path to revenue.
  • Launch Excellence: Build and execute repeatable launch processes for vertical-specific capabilities, packaging updates, and segment-driven initiatives, ensuring every launch is positioned to win.
  • Sales Confidence: Enable sales teams to confidently engage vertical buyers, not just with what PubMatic offers, but why it matters to their specific compliance requirements, audience strategies, and performance goals.
  • Market Expansion: Partner with sales teams to create vertical-specific programs that grow share of wallet in existing accounts and break into new client segments within each category.
  • Product + Market Fit: Partner closely with Product to synthesize customer, market, and competitive insights into business cases and strategic recommendations that shape the roadmap and ensure our capabilities evolve to meet the needs of priority verticals.
  • Demand Acceleration: Work with marketing to develop content strategies, thought leadership, case studies, category reports, that build PubMatic's credibility and fuel adoption within key verticals.

Who You Are:
  • Vertical Market Fluency: Deep familiarity with the dynamics, regulations, and advertising sensitivities of regulated and emerging advertising categories, or a demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly in complex categories.
  • Ad Tech Foundation: Solid understanding of programmatic advertising, how buyers, sellers, and data interact , and how vertical-specific requirements (brand safety, compliance windows, audience restrictions, performance) shape strategy.
  • Scrappy Execution: Proven ability to move quickly, test and learn, and deliver results in environments with high expectations and finite resources.
  • Launch Leadership: Comfort running vertical-specific launches and programs with autonomy, from positioning and messaging through enablement and field activation.
  • Sales-Led GTM Expertise: Familiarity with sales-driven motions and how to enable cross-sell and upsell within complex, high-compliance accounts.
  • Market Intelligence: Ability to synthesize competitive dynamics, buyer trends, and regulatory shifts into actionable insights for product and commercial teams.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to distill complex category dynamics into clear, compelling narratives, in writing, in presentations, and in front of clients and prospects.

Outcomes That Define Success:

You'll be measured by your ability to:
  • Establish a repeatable, high-quality vertical GTM playbook that can scale across new categories.
  • Build sales confidence and category fluency across the high-growth and emerging verticals.
  • Serve as PubMatic's internal expert and external voice on vertical market dynamics, feeding intelligence back to product and commercial.
  • Drive measurable growth in vertical revenue, adoption, and new demand from targeted client segments.
  • Identify and activate at least one net-new vertical expansion with a clear go-to-market rationale.
