Position Summary

The Primary Care Research Institute (PCRI), based in the Department of Family Medicine, is seeking an Associate Director of Research Development responsible for expanding funding opportunities by identifying and disseminating funding opportunities, coordinating proposal development and submission activities, supporting investigators and community partners in developing competitive proposals, and facilitating grant submissions that advance PCRI's research mission.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies, evaluates, and disseminates funding opportunities aligned with investigator, departmental, clinical, and community partner priorities, and provides recommendations based on sponsor priorities, competitiveness, and funding requirements.


  • Leads the coordination of proposal development efforts among PCRI principal investigators and their teams by supporting project design, proposal framing, proposal writing and editing, and the development of competitive funding applications.


  • Collaborates with investigators, the Director of Finance and Research Administration, the Department Administrator, and community partners to support project planning, proposal budgets, budget justifications, and other components necessary for proposal development.


  • Coordinates the preparation, assembly, review, and submission of grant and contract proposals, ensuring alignment with sponsor requirements, submission guidelines, and compliance expectations.


  • Assists in identifying and facilitating partnerships that support competitive funding opportunities and project development.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, management, education, public health, epidemiology, or research related field
  • Five years qualified experience in health planning, grant development, or research required.
  • Experience must include demonstrated people skills.
  • Working understanding of research design principles.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in business administration, management, education, public health, epidemiology, or research related field.
  • Ten years qualified experience in grant writing.

This position will never drive a university owned vehicle.

Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000
