Function and Scope

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Application Services, the Associate Director serves as a key member of the Information Technology Services (ITS) leadership team. This role plays an important part in advancing the organization's enterprise applications strategy, partnering with business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and helping shape the future of business services through technology. Working collaboratively with ITS leadership, the Associate Director contributes to strategic planning, technology priorities, and initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and support long-term goals.

This position leads a team of business analysts who partner with stakeholders across the organization to improve business processes, maximize the value of enterprise systems, and deliver technology solutions that support organizational goals.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Business Analyst who is ready to take the next step into organizational leadership. This role offers the opportunity to lead a highly collaborative team, influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, engage with senior leaders, and help drive innovation through emerging technologies, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Enterprise Applications and Business Solutions' responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership & Strategic Partnership
  • Lead and inspire a team of business analyst professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and exceptional customer service.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness through technology.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Enterprise Application Services and Information Technology strategic plans.
  • Establish priorities for the team and ensure resources are aligned with organizational goals and emerging business needs.
  • Build strong relationships with campus stakeholders, central office partners, and technology vendors to advance enterprise initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and champion for business process improvement and technology modernization efforts.

Business Analysis, Process Improvement & Portfolio Leadership
  • Lead enterprise-wide efforts to evaluate, improve, and optimize business processes and supporting technologies.
  • Guide business analysis activities, including requirements discovery, business process assessment, solution evaluation, testing coordination, and implementation planning.
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders and the development team to ensure solutions address business objectives and deliver measurable value.
  • Oversee the enterprise application portfolio and help define application roadmaps that support organizational priorities.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for automation, workflow improvement, reporting enhancements, and improved user experience.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in business analysis, requirements management, and solution governance.

Innovation & Emerging Technology
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, AI, automation, analytics, and enterprise platforms.
  • Evaluate opportunities to leverage new technologies to improve services, increase efficiency, and support strategic objectives.
  • Help create a culture that embraces innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to identify technology investments that provide long-term organizational value.

Vendor & Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with software vendors and service providers.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations, contract discussions, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure vendor-delivered services align with organizational expectations and strategic objectives.

Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in business analysis, enterprise applications, process improvement, or technology-enabled transformation.
  • Experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams in a complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements management, change management, and solution delivery practices.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and leading multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Experience with ERP or enterprise business systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, governance, and compliance principles preferred.

Salary: $127,839 - $157,590
