Are you an ambitious litigator ready to take the next step in your career? Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our dynamic Toxic Tort (asbestos) defense team in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to gain hands-on experience, grow under the mentorship of experienced trial lawyers, and contribute meaningfully to high-profile, complex litigation.

What We're Looking For:
  • Licensed in Illinois (Active and in good standing). Admission in surrounding states (MO or IN) is a plus.
  • 1-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a focus on:
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Conducting legal research and case analysis
  • Communicating with clients and/or insurance carriers
  • Strong writing and advocacy skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with mediations/arbitrations is a plus but not required


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a robust caseload with a focus on toxic tort (asbestos) defense
  • Handle cases from inception through resolution or trial in collaboration with partners

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $95,000 - $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
