UB Greensfelder currently has an opening in the Chicago office for an Associate Attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join the Litigation Practice Group, working on commercial litigation involving financial services, securities, and complex financial transactions.
Illinois law license required.Position Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as the strategic process of case management.
- Manage cases from inception through discovery, trial preparation and trial.
- Conduct and defendant depositions
- Participate in settlement conferences, hearings and trial.
- Prepare motions, discovery responses, and client reports.
- Assist in trial preparation including strategy, discovery, records review, client interview, and witness preparation.
- Appearing in court and arguing substantive motions.
Qualified Applicants Will Have:
- 5+ years of litigation based practice required; experience with commercial business dispute matters preferred.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Superior analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
- Trial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing experience.
- Portable business or demonstrated business development interest is a plus, but not required.
