Job Description

The Red Hat Canada Consulting Services team is seeking an Architect. In this role, you will earn the trust and confidence of customers' engineering, development, and operations teams through in-person and remote interactions by aligning their requirements and use cases to the functional capabilities of our solutions. You'll play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product, Product Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. As an Architect, you will serve as a customer advocate with these organizations to deliver the right solutions and to ensure that these solutions are implemented and supported. This is a remote position with potential travel to customer sites and can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada near an airport. Successful applicants must reside where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do:
  • Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals
  • Contribute to project documentation and diagrams,
  • Mentor and share knowledge with customers and team members
  • Work with senior associates to guide the adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market
  • Design and advocate solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods
  • Engage in pre-sales activities, including customer discovery sessions, workshops, and solution design
  • Partner with Sales and Account teams to shape opportunities, define scope, and build compelling technical proposals
  • Support RFP/RFI responses and present solutions to technical and executive stakeholders
  • Assess customer infrastructure environments and propose optimized architectures
  • Design and implement OpenShift-based platforms, including OpenShift Virtualization
  • Lead migration initiatives from traditional virtualization platforms to OpenShift
  • Provide technical leadership during delivery, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and partners, helping define infrastructure and platform roadmaps
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Consulting, and Support teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Drive adoption of automation, DevOps, and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable assets, and best practices


What you will bring:
  • 8-10 years in a related technology position, e.g., sales, consulting, operations, development, etc
  • 5+ years of experience with Public Cloud and Linux technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with automation frameworks and tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
  • 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure (compute, storage, networking)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including executive-level storytelling
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and architectures
  • Fluent in English and French Canadian (written and verbal) is a plus
  • Red Hat certifications are a plus


Nice to have:
  • Thorough knowledge of network functions virtualization (NFV), cloud software-defined networking (SDN) or storage disciplines, and DevOps models and technologies
  • Experience with storage systems like FiberChannel (and/or FCOE), iSCSI, or other Software Defined Storage technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and design
  • Virtualization platforms utilizing KVM, QEMU, OpenStack, OpenShift Virtualization
  • Experience with AppDev automation and pipelines. Technology like Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD, etc
  • Experience with networking technologies including VLANs, routing protocols, IPAM solutions, and Load Balancers. Technology like Infoblox TCPWave, F5, etc
  • Experience in designing and delivering implementations using various public and private cloud infrastructure technologies and providers
  • Knowledge of Virtualization technologies such as KVM, Physical-2-Virt, and Virt-v2v.
  • Broad and deep technical experience with VMware ESXi software, including vCenter, and VM lifecycle operations using VMware tools preferred.
  • Interest and knowledge in AI/ML technologies and recent developments. AUser-level
  • Admin-level familiarity with vSphere, RHV, or OpenStack
  • VMware infrastructure, including ESX, Vcenter, [S/DV]Switches/NSX, Datastores, vSAN, vVols, vRealize, SRM, Backup software
  • Expert level with VMware VM foundational technologies for networks ([S/DV]Switches/NSX)
  • Expert level with VMware VM foundational technologies for storage (Datastores, vSAN, vVols)
  • Knowledge of common Add-Ons or third-party tools, including Aria/vRealize Suite, SRM, Backup software, and Performance tools)
  • Experience with technologies including OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure a plus
  • Experience with hyper-converged technologies like IBM Fusion, Nutanix, Dell Apex
  • Experience in Financial Services
