Job Summary

This role sits within the Integration Center of Excellence (ICOE) and is responsible for engineering, operating, and evolving the enterprise API Management (APIM) platform. The focus is on platform reliability, secure-by-default patterns, and developer enablement, not one-off API delivery.

Job Description

What you'll do:

Essential Job Functions & Tasks
  • Engineer and operate the enterprise API Management platform (self-hosted gateways, policies, CI/CD integration).
  • Lead and drive standardization and efficiencies with API Development using Reusable Policy Fragments and other best practices
  • Design and standardize API security, traffic management, and governance using reusable policy fragments.
  • Partner with application teams to onboard APIs following enterprise standards (OAuth2, mTLS, JWT, rate limiting).
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and DR/testing exercises (e.g., internet isolation).
  • Skilled in API Monitoring and Diagnostics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for API performance monitoring and diagnostics
  • Working experience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and managing deployments in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments
  • Build automation for API onboarding, cert rotation, and operational tasks.
  • Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) and own APIM platform admin tasks (capacity planning, upgrades, backup/restore, access management, incident resolution).


Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with API Management platforms (Azure APIM preferred; Apigee, Kong acceptable).
  • Deep knowledge of REST, HTTP, OAuth2/OIDC, TLS, certificates, and API security models.
  • Experience leveraging GenAI Dev tooling (Claude Code, Codex, Anti Gravity, Kiro etc) for API / service development
  • Experience operating platforms in hybrid/on-prem environments.
  • CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).


Nice to Have
  • Experience using Splunk and/or Dynatrace in Production Environments for Platform Observability
  • Experience with self-hosted gateways and hybrid connectivity.
  • Prompt Engineering & AI API Design: Ability to design APIs that interact with AI models effectively.
  • Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its usage for integration use cases.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, service meshes, and zero-trust architectures.


Desired Certified Credentials
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
