About this role:This position in our complex securities valuation practice conducts valuations of various financial derivatives and other complex securities for financial reporting (ASC 718 and 815), tax and regulatory compliance (IRC Section 409A), transaction support and financing opportunities. Such securities may consist of illiquid investments, such as bank loans, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity in privately-held companies, as well as structured products.
What you will do:- Work with financial models using diverse valuation methods, such as lattice, option pricing methods, Monte Carlo simulation and other advanced modeling techniques
- Develop quantitative models to value unique financial instruments
- Perform statistical and data analyses using accepted and relevant approaches and theories
- Gather and document pertinent data obtained through client interaction
- Assist in preparing formal client reports and presentation materials
What you will need:- 0-2 years work experience in a financial analysis role, including experience conducting valuation of various financial derivatives and other complex securities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Major in financial engineering or mathematical finance is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Progress towards CFA designations
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Programming skills in Python, R or MATLAB are a plus
- Self-starter temperament with the ability to master new tasks quickly
- Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle dynamic, time-sensitive engagements in a team setting
- Strong work ethic and ability to work flexible hours around critical due dates
- Current authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

$70,000 - $100,000 The base salary offered at the time of hire is only a portion of total compensation and may differ from the stated range. It could be higher or lower depending on various factors, including the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the specific service line and location for the position. In addition to base pay, a meaningful portion of total compensation is paid as quarterly profit-sharing compensation, which has historically ranged from 20- 30% of base pay.
