Full Job Description
The Agile Practitioner 3 - Sr. Scrum Master is a senior, hands-on delivery role accountable for reliable execution across complex, cross-team initiatives once work is committed. You will operate as the single point of orchestration across engineering, product, architecture, vendor partners, and business stakeholders - translating business intent into executable delivery plans, then keeping those plans honest with data.

This role does not own technical delivery or product prioritization. It partners closely with engineering leaders and product owners to enable successful outcomes, and it carries real influence: you set the delivery cadence, own the metrics that leadership sees, and coach the practice forward for other Agile Practitioners on the team.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

Delivery execution

  • Drive delivery across multiple concurrent platform initiatives - planning, sequencing, milestone tracking, and release readiness
  • Facilitate all Agile events (sprint planning, daily stand-up, backlog refinement, review, retrospective) across cross-functional teams, adapting cadence to Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery models as the initiative requires
  • Own cross-team dependency management: proactively identify, coordinate, and resolve dependencies and risks before they create downstream impact
  • Maintain project plans, timelines, RAID logs, and stakeholder communication artifacts for enterprise initiatives with regulatory and compliance exposure

Metrics and reporting

  • Instrument and report delivery health - velocity, throughput, sprint predictability, capacity utilization, spillover trends, cycle and lead time - and turn those signals into decisions, not dashboards
  • Produce executive-level status reporting on delivery progress, risk, dependency, resourcing, and business outcome attainment for VP and business-unit leadership
  • Automate recurring reporting and metrics generation, reducing manual status assembly time and improving reporting consistency

Partner and vendor orchestration

  • Coordinate delivery across internal engineering teams and system integrator / vendor-staffed teams, holding partner delivery to the same cadence, quality, and transparency standards as internal teams
  • Manage statement-of-work milestones, onboarding, and escalation paths with delivery partners

Practice leadership

  • Coach engineering teams, product owners, and less experienced Agile Practitioners on Agile principles, servant leadership, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the AI-enabled delivery framework: pilot new tooling, capture what works, and scale it across the organization
  • Support AI enablement and learning sessions for engineering and business audiences

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • One or more current Agile certifications: PSM I/II, PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, CSM, or ICAgile equivalent
  • 8+ years of professional experience in delivery, project management, or business analysis roles
  • 5+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery lead for software engineering teams
  • 2+ years of experience facilitating delivery across multiple concurrent teams or a program of related teams
  • 1+ years of experience coaching teams through an Agile transformation or maturity uplift (waterfall-to-Agile, or scaling an immature practice)
  • 1+ years of experience with Agile work management tooling - Jira, Rally, VersionOne, Azure DevOps, or equivalent - including workflow configuration and reporting
  • 1+ years of experience with Agile delivery metrics and using them to drive predictability improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and present executive-level delivery reporting to senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering in health care, insurance, or another regulated industry - claims, enrollment, pharmacy, or clinical operations preferred
  • Experience with SAFe or another scaled Agile framework in a multi-team environment
  • Experience delivering AI/ML or intelligent automation initiatives, where scope evolves as model performance becomes clear
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner or in requirements elicitation and user story authoring
  • Hands-on use of generative AI tools (Copilot, Claude, NotebookLM, or similar) to produce delivery artifacts, executive presentations, and automated reporting
  • PMP or equivalent traditional project management credential, alongside Agile certification
