Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role PurposeCorning is seeking a skilled and proactive Administrative Assistant III to provide executive-level support to Directors within our Charlotte NC office. In this role, you will serve as a critical coordination hub - managing complex calendars, global travel, customer-facing logistics, and executive communications across a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex calendars, phone communications, and domestic and international travel arrangements for Director-level leaders across multiple time zones (East Coast, Central, West Coast, EMEA, and APAC)
- Plan and coordinate executive events, offsite meetings, customer visits, team recognition activities, and executive workshops - managing all associated logistics including meeting rooms, catering, transportation, and visitor access
- Serve as the primary coordination point for customer-facing meetings, executive reviews, and site visits; interface directly with senior leadership, business partners, and external stakeholders including customer administrative teams
- Proactively collect, organize, and prepare materials and information for executive discussions, business reviews, and high-level corporate meetings
- Process expense reports using Concur and manage purchase order initiation and procedures
- Provide administrative backup support for the broader administrative team and support onboarding activities for new team members
Required Qualifications- Associate's degree in business or related field
- 3 + years of experience in an Administrative Assistant role supporting Director-level leaders or above
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated experience managing complex calendars across multiple time zones
- Experience coordinating domestic and international travel, including visa documentation and itinerary management
- Experience processing expense reports using Concur or an equivalent platform
- Experience initiating and managing purchase order processes
- Availability to provide occasional administrative support outside of standard business hours when required
Desired Qualifications- Experience supporting Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members, C-suite executives, or Corporate Officers
- Experience coordinating executive-level events, workshops, and customer visits end-to-end
- Experience working directly with customer administrative teams and external stakeholder groups
- Proficiency with collaboration tools and travel booking platforms across regions
- Experience supporting onboarding activities for new team members

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $68,393.00 - $94,041.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
