Full Job Description
The Account Manager is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, developing, and converting opportunities with pharmaceutical customers. This role develops and executes commercial strategies, negotiates contracts, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and builds long-term customer relationships to grow revenue across Evonik's contract development and manufacturing portfolio, including polymer-based drug delivery solutions for parenteral applications. The ideal candidate combines strong business development capabilities with a proven ability to sell complex technical solutions and create value for customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities in parenteral drug delivery markets
  • Build and nurture relationships with pharmaceutical companies
  • Negotiate and manage contracts (NDAs, supply agreements, service agreements, etc.) with internal legal and quality teams
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for product differentiation
  • Collaborate on market strategies and partnerships across the value chain
  • Attend industry conferences and trade events to generate leads and business opportunities
  • Maintain pipeline reporting and sales tracking for business development initiatives
  • Grow existing accounts and identify strategic opportunities for revenue expansion
  • Support marketing initiatives and product strategies in collaboration with internal teams
  • Identify innovative applications and market opportunities for existing and new products
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and quality requirements in customer engagements


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical business development or sales experience
  • Experience with CDMO or contract manufacturing
  • Knowledge of drug delivery systems and solutions
  • Willingness to travel and attend industry events
  • Proven ability to sell complex technical products and contract negotiation and management
  • Strong relationship-building, networking capabilities, market analysis and business planning skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an understanding of regulatory and quality considerations
  • Results-driven with experience managing sales pipelines and revenue growth


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Pay Range: $111,800-$202,900 annually
