Oregon State University is a public research university located in Corvallis, Oregon. The university was founded in 1868 and is the state's largest university. Oregon State University offers more than 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including programs in agriculture, engineering, forestry, oceanography, and veterinary medicine. The university is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Hatfield Marine Science Center, the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing, and the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center. Oregon State University is a member of the Association of American Universities and is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
