Feeding America is a United States-based nonprofit organization that is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies. It was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The organization works to end hunger in the United States through a variety of programs and initiatives, including food rescue, advocacy, disaster relief, and nutrition education. Feeding America is funded by donations from individuals, corporations, and government entities.
