As part of a fast-moving team, the Senior Design Engineer will report directly to the Design Engineering Director. The product focus is on MMIC amplifiers including LNAs, power amplifiers, and distributed wideband amplifiers. The role will allow for significant exposure to and mentoring from Distinguished members of technical staff within the group who are renowned experts in their fields. Hands-on leader responsible for product characterization, qualification, initial product sampling, production release, yield optimization, and customer engagement on quality initiatives for MACOM’s MMIC product line. Lead the Product and Reliability Engineering team (currently 7 Engineers and 1 Planner). Set timelines, budgets, and resources allocation to ensure timely execution of milestones.
Ensures Fab equipment and processes meet throughput, yield, safety, and efficiency objectives. Develops and documents procedures to sustain and evolve equipment performance through data analysis. Effectively communicates progress to goals through presentations and ongoing reviews.
This critical role spans technology development, transition to production, and production, for multiple thin film synthesis techniques, including MBE, MOCVD, ALD, PECVD and sputtering in a mixed Si, GaAs, and GaN production environment. You will be responsible for leading production related activities related to III-N and other films. You will lead transition to production of newly developed epitaxial processes.
Specialize in MACOM’s High-Performance Analog ICs and their specific applications. Provide expert level engineering support to customers, sales, FAEs, and marketing. Work with design engineering to produce product documentation and applications collateral.
