Besides our own mother, the buzzy new mom we’re most excited about is Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who just delivered the most recent royal baby. That’s what online rewards program Swagbucks found in their annual Mother’s Day survey. The national survey of 1,000 U.S. adults was conducted online by Prodege.
Another 24% have a special interest in seeing how comedian Amy Schumer, who just gave birth to her son Gene Attell Fischer, tackles life as an entertainer and a mom.

As for other celeb mothers, the favorite among men and women is the frank and funny Kristen Bell.
There’s also a coterie of TV moms that encapsulated motherhood so perfectly that they’ve stuck in our heads.
For women, the top 3 are:
- Lorelai Gilmore, “Gilmore Girls”
- Kitty Forman, “That 70s Show”
- Rebecca Pearson, “This Is Us”
For men, it’s:
- Kitty Forman, “That 70s Show”
- Carol Brady, “The Brady Bunch”
- Claire Dunphy, “Modern Family”
But let’s not forget about our real-life moms. According to the survey, 75% of them want something tech-y for Mother’s Day. (Moms have sure evolved since the days when they barely knew how to email!). Top items are a smartwatch (26%) or new headphones (18%).
Six in 10 people buying Mother’s Day gifts will spend less than $50, however, so those headphones might have to wait until Christmas.
Of course, if you are looking to go low-tech, low-cost, but high-touch, you can’t go wrong with a phone call. It’s free, and Mom will love you for it – of course.
