If you’re over 50, these are the industries that will be hiring the most

If you’re over 50 and in the position to look for a new job, it might be time to start thinking ahead into the future. Thanks to new projections, we have an idea of what the growing industries are for workers over the next decade. The US Department of Labor posted its employment projections over the 2019-2029 decade in September, which projects an increase of six million jobs (162.8 million to 168.8 million) across the decade.

What you do today could become obsolete but don’t sweat it. With steps today, you could better prepare yourself in the future.

The fastest growing fields

While the rise in jobs is good news for all, it’s even better news for those in medical fields.

Six of the 10 fastest growing occupations were in medical, according to the report, with the highest employment change projection expected in home health and personal care aides.

Additionally, there are other opportunities in renewable energy and cybersecurity; the former being one of the pillars of the Biden administration.
