Careers in Pharmacy

Pharmacists dispense prescription medications to patients. The professional pharmacist must not only do this, but be capable of offering expert advice in the proper and safe use of any product passed over the counter, including explaining possible side effects. In many cases, duties include giving immunizations such as flu shots, and conducting health screenings. Completing complex insurance forms and keeping strict records is all part of daily life for a pharmacist. Qualifications include people skills, a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree and a postgraduate professional degree.
