Position: Windows Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Windows Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server environments. The role includes administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, virtualization, security, system monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and optimal performance of enterprise IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.
  • Administer Active Directory, including user and group management, organizational units (OUs), and domain services.
  • Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and organizational policies.
  • Manage core Windows services such as DNS, DHCP, File Server, Print Server, and Distributed File System (Client).
  • Monitor server health, performance, and availability using system monitoring tools.
  • Perform server patching, updates, upgrades, and security hardening.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, shared folders, and access controls.
  • Configure and maintain Windows Server Failover Clustering and high-availability solutions.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Troubleshoot server, operating system, and infrastructure issues.
  • Support Microsoft services including Remote Desktop Services (RDS), IIS, and Windows Defender.
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration records.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
    • Group Policy (GPO)
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Client
    • NTFS permissions
    • Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Experience with Windows Server backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, or Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Windows security best practices, endpoint protection, and system hardening.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, or SCOM.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management tools.
  • Basic Linux administration skills are a plus.

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
