We're seeking a talented VPI - Site Quality Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Quality for our Columbus, IN location

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Champion Customer Focus: Build strong customer relationships and deliver solutions that consistently reflect customer needs and expectations.

  • Lead APQP Excellence: Drive structured, measurable quality planning processes that ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.
  • Advance Measurement Science: Analyze measurement systems to identify uncertainty sources and strengthen metrology practices across disciplines.
  • Solve Complex Problems: Use systematic, data-driven methods to resolve issues, prevent recurrence, and mentor others in effective problem-solving approaches.
  • Drive Vision and Execution: Inspire others by articulating a compelling vision, managing projects effectively, and ensuring quality systems and tools deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes.


Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Technical Certifications & Quality Expertise: Success requires IATF Internal Auditor certification, VDA knowledge, and solid command of core tools, GD&T, and foundational 6S and welding concepts to ensure robust quality oversight.
  • Leadership & Team Development: You'll lead, coach, and mentor Team Leaders, Technicians, and Inspectors while defining team strategy, driving engagement, and managing the MNC area to meet commitments.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Applying statistical tools, interpreting graphical data, and using metrics to verify products and processes will be essential for effective change management and continuous improvement.
  • Customer, Supplier & Audit Management: You'll manage customer and supplier concerns through root-cause analysis, ensure accountability to prevent recurrence, and actively participate in internal/external audits and customer visits.


Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Intermediate level of experience required. Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry. Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.

  • Leadership experience in coaching and mentoring Team Leaders, Technicians, and Inspectors; ability to define team strategy, drive engagement, and manage MNC area responsibilities.
  • Change Management capability, including verifying products and processes, developing key performance measures, and analyzing data to support improvement decisions.
  • Statistical analysis skills, including applying statistical tools, interpreting performance graphics, and making data-driven decisions with clear action plans.
  • Customer and Supplier concern management, including leading root-cause analysis, documenting learnings, ensuring team accountability, and preventing recurrence through robust corrective actions.
  • Audit participation, including supporting internal and external audits and coordinating customer visits as needed.
