Full Job Description
Time Doctor | Remote - North America | Reports to the CEO

Time Doctor is hiring a VP of Marketing to own the pipeline and revenue funnels that fuel growth across a hybrid product-led and sales-led business: a profitable, global SaaS company with an established customer base (10k+ customers), two working revenue motions (PLG + Sales-Led), a next-generation AI product headed to market - and a mandate to build marketing as an AI-first function from the ground up. You'll report to the CEO, work closely with the CRO and growth team, and lead a lean team built for speed and leverage, not headcount.

The role

You'll lead all of marketing - demand generation, content, brand, product, customer and partner marketing - as one integrated function with one job: both revenue funnels full, always. Two things make this seat different from most VP Marketing roles:

The motion. Time Doctor runs a true hybrid model: a self-serve funnel where users sign up, try, and buy on their own, and a sales-led funnel where marketing feeds and accelerates the sales team. You'll own both funnels and the handoffs between them, informed by real product usage and GTM data - across multiple major markets globally.

The operating model. This is a building role. You'll design an AI-first marketing organization - building and orchestrating agents yourself, embedding them in daily operations, and scaling a lean team that does the same. You'll operate as a player/coach: setting strategy with the CEO and CRO, then executing alongside your team.

Who you are
  • You wake up thinking about pipeline - new ways to solve hard marketing problems that drive revenue.
  • Entrepreneurial and growth-obsessed: you're here to build a business, not run a department.
  • You see revenue leaders as partners, not internal customers - working toward a shared company goal is what excites you.
  • You move fast and take smart chances: experiment, learn, and fail fast - you'd rather try and miss than sit still.
  • Today's marketing landscape energizes you, it doesn't scare you. You "nerd out" on the newest tools, tech, and best practices - and you're first to try them.
  • You hold yourself to a simple standard: sales is fed and the funnel is full. Always.
  • You've been coached, you seek out coaches, and you look for every edge you can get.
  • You're competitive, hungry, and motivated by the work you do - you wake up excited to build every day.

What you'll own
  • The number. You own filling both revenue funnels - New Business & Expansion pipeline for the sales team, and high-quality PQLs (engaged, ICP-fit trials) for the self-serve funnel, with direct accountability for cost of acquisition.
  • Two funnels, one strategy. One integrated go-to-market across two motions. You decide how budget, channels, and messaging split between self-serve and sales-led to fill both funnels with quality revenue. Growth converts PQLs into activations; the CRO owns revenue. Your job: neither funnel is ever the reason we miss.
  • Global positioning. How Time Doctor is positioned and differentiated across multiple major markets and ICP segments, in a competitive, trust-sensitive category.
  • Brand and content. A content engine that drives organic growth, SEO/GEO and feeds every other marketing function.
  • Product marketing. Positioning, launches, and sales enablement - including bringing our next-generation product to market in partnership with Product.
  • Customer marketing. Expansion campaigns, lifecycle programs, advocacy, and customer stories that drive Net Revenue Retention.
  • Partner marketing. Co-marketing programs, partner enablement, and campaigns that turn our partner ecosystem into a revenue source - integrations, resellers, and affiliates feeding both funnels.
  • The AI-first operating model. Agents and automation embedded in daily marketing operations - demand gen, conversion, content, campaign ops, personalization, analysis, reporting - so a lean team outproduces a big one. You'll set the standard for how the whole company applies AI.
  • The team. Hire, develop, and lead a lean team (currently ~4) across multiple time zones, and grow their AI fluency so they can build/scale their own agentic teams.
  • The budget. Ownership of spend across channels, funnels, and markets, plus the contractors, freelancers, and martech stack that extend the team. Outside resources are leverage, not a crutch: every dollar you spend comes from a customer.

This role is NOT for you if...
  • Your first instinct is to hire agencies and add headcount. We run lean by design - leverage comes from focus, systems, and AI - not staff.
  • "AI experience" on your resume means your team uses ChatGPT sometimes. We need someone who has personally built and orchestrated agent workflows that ship real work and deliver real outcomes.
  • You've only ever marketed to one motion. If you've done pure PLG or pure enterprise sales-led - but never both at once - this will be a hard job.
  • You've only ever marketed to one market or region. We sell globally, across multiple major markets and segments.
  • You optimize for vanity metrics and impressions. We optimize for pipeline, revenue, and cost of acquisition.
  • You want to set strategy and delegate from a distance. This is a hands-on, in-the-work leadership role.

What a realistic week looks like

A pipeline working session with the CRO. Reviewing a PQL routing experiment with the Growth team. Shipping an agent workflow that doubles demo requests - then teaching the team to build the next one. Rewriting the homepage conversion flow because you had a better idea. Inspecting the funnel and bringing an issue to brainstorm with the GTM leaders on your weekly call. Live collaboration during Eastern Time hours with your team, plus async updates for teammates in other time zones. Reporting pipeline, CAC, and funnel conversion to the Senior Leadership team with zero fluff.

Your experience
  • 8+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, including senior leadership across multiple marketing functions.
  • Ran marketing in a hybrid product-led + sales-led model - you can talk in detail about self-serve conversion AND sales pipeline generation, and how you made them reinforce each other.
  • Brought a new product to market: you've led positioning, launch, and go-to-market for a significant new product or product generation - in this category or another.
  • Served more than one major market, including global/international audiences - you've localized positioning, channels, and campaigns across regions.
  • Direct, measurable ownership of pipeline, cost of acquisition, and revenue contribution - you know your numbers cold.
  • Hands-on AI builder: you've personally designed and deployed agent workflows and automation in marketing operations, can name your stack, and can show what it shipped.
  • Led lean, remote teams across time zones - effective both live and async.
  • Resourceful operator: you've built growth without waiting for the perfect budget or team size.
  • Comfortable hands-on with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics. HubSpot experience strongly preferred.
  • Based in North America, with working hours that overlap Eastern Time.

Nice to have
  • Background in workforce analytics, workforce/talent management, HR tech, or productivity software.
  • Experience marketing to BPO/outsourcing, healthcare, or tech services buyers.
  • Experience selling to mid-market customers with a global footprint.

How we'll measure success
  • New Business & Expansion pipeline delivered to the sales team.
  • PQL volume and quality - engaged, ICP-fit trials delivered to Growth.
  • Cost of acquisition and overall marketing efficiency.
  • Growth in organic traffic and LLM brand presence across our markets.
  • Launches that drive new business, expansion and adoption.
  • Retention and expansion influenced by customer marketing.
  • More output per person because of the AI systems you've built - and a healthy, productive team that stays.

Why this role
  • Participate in the upside. Competitive comp tied to company outcomes you help generate.
  • Report directly to the CEO (a prior CMO) with a real seat at the leadership table.
  • Profitable, growing company - your budget comes from customers, not a burn rate.
  • A next-generation AI product to bring to market - with the launch playbook yours to write.
  • Build the AI-first marketing playbook from the front, instead of inheriting someone else's.
  • Fully remote and flexible - work with talented people in 30+ countries.
  • Travel to some awesome places and work with some awesome people.
